USE OF THESE PAGES

The purpose of this site is to share my work with others.  This material is intended for the personal use of genealogists who are interested in these families.  If you want to re-publish a significant portion of any of these pages in print or on the Web, please request permission.   You are free to quote a small section of a page, perhaps a few paragraphs, without permission.   But please give credit if you use more.

The practical reason for this caveat is that I change the content of these pages frequently. A truism of genealogy is that neither the raw data nor the conclusions drawn from it are static.  New information often leads to new theories. And neither my information nor my logic is infallible. 

This website and all its pages are copyrighted. That means the data as it is presented is my legal property. I have no copyright to public records, only to the narrative I've used to present them. In essence, this website contains a series of genealogical "books". You should treat the content of this website as you would treat any printed book.

Feel free to link to this site, or to any of its pages.   I would prefer that you link to this site rather than quoting large portions of it, since the pages do change from time to time.

Over the years, I have been helped enormously by the work of others who have shared their information and ideas with me. I welcome anything you'd like to share, including links to your own pages. 

HOW THIS SITE WAS CREATED

My raw files are created in Microsoft Word - currently in Word 2007.  I convert the files into HTML documents for the web pages and use Microsoft Expression Web to format and upload them.  I test the pages with recent versions of Internet Explorer, Netscape, and Firefox.
