The purpose of this site is to share my work with others. This material is intended for the personal use of genealogists who are interested in these families.If you want to re-publish a significant portion of any of these pages in print or on the Web, please request permission. You are free to quote a small section of a page, perhaps a few paragraphs, without permission. But please give credit if you use more.

This website and all its pages are copyrighted. That means the data as it is presented is my legal property. I have no copyright to public records, only to the narrative I've used to present them. In essence, this website contains a series of genealogical "books". You should treat the content of this website as you would treat any printed book.

Feel free to link to this site, or to any of its pages. I would prefer that you link to this site rather than quoting large portions of it, since the pages do change from time to time.

Over the years, I have been helped enormously by the work of others who have shared their information and ideas with me. I welcome anything you'd like to share, including links to your own pages. You can email me from any page within the site.

How This Site Was Created

My formatted text files are created in Microsoft Word -- currently in Word 2007 for Windows 7 and/or Word 2008 for my MacBook Pro. I convert the files into HTML documents for the web pages and use Dreamweaver CS4 to format and upload them. I test the pages with recent versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and Chrome.

Many of the pages are too lengthy for webpages; these pages pave been converted into PDF documents which yoyu can read with the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. Note that not all browsers support the accurate viewing of heavily formatted pdf documents; use Acrobat Reader if your brower add-on is having trouble viewing the e-book files.
